***RALLY THE EVENING OF THE COURTS DECISION***
equality
On March 5, 2009 the California Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the case to overturn Prop 8.
They will make their decision known within 90 days from the date of the hearings.
Regardless of the decision that is made, that day will be a very important milestone in the history of our community and the allies that support us.
No matter what the state Supreme Court decides, the fight for equality will continue in
California and across the country.

The Equality Inland Empire Steering Committee (EQIE), a coaltion of LGBT and ally organizations in the Inland Empire invite you to join us in peaceful demonstration of solidartiy and visibility the evening the decision is announced.

Where: Corner of Day Creek and Foothill Boulevard in Rancho Cucamonga (Exit the 15 freeway west on Foothill. Foothill is between the 10 and 210 freeways)

When: 7pm The EVENING of the court decision

Why: As stated recently by the Courage Campaign, "If we win, the same people who backed Prop 8 will find another way to undermine equal rights. If we lose, we will need to take our case to the people of California again. No matter what, we'll eventually need to win full equality under federal law."

What: Bring a battery operated candle (the city of Rancho has not allowed open flame candles at prior events), a sign and your friends.
The Eve of Justice Rally in Riverside the night before the hearings had approximately 250 people in attendance. If each one of us brings one additional person to this event, we will definitely let the IE and others know we are part of their community and we expect to be treated equally.

Equality Inland Empire (EQIE) is a coaltion of GLBT and ally organizations in the Inland Empire.

EQIE's intent is to increase visibility and support local GLBT and ally organizations.
EQIE is involved in the local, statewide and national GLBT civil rights and marriage equality movement

When the CA Supreme Court announces their decision on Proposition 8, we must act! We are calling you to join us for a rally in celebration or protest on the day of the decision. Protests will occur nationwide and our voices will be heard! We hope that we will come together in celebration, but must know that even in celebration we have many more battles to win and need to unite on the day of decision in one loud voice.
