THANKS for the support and a great rally. Also, thanks for being witness to my marriage proposal to Jim, my boyfriend of 2 years. Take a look at some video coverage:

Day of Decision is May 26.

NEWS: Prop 8 was upheld in a vote of 6-1, but the 18,000 marriages will remain valid. This is the first time in U.S. history that the majority has taken away pre-existing rights of a minority. A friend whose marriage was in jeopardy said that this is like Nazi Germany.

Rally in Protest on the Day of the Decision

Come out support your U.S. brothers and sisters! Remember, "We Are Family"

Proposition 8 embodies the anti-gay movement in the U.S. As Canadians living in a country where same-sex marriage is legal, we can show that gays and lesbians can be accepted in mainstream society. Hate does not need to exist. Love can prevail.

Gay and lesbian Canadians travelling in the U.S. should be concerned. Should there be trouble, either medical or legal, same-sex partners could be barred from visiting each other, as in the tragic case of one lesbian couple visiting Florida last year.

Join us at Denman and Davie at 6pm on the Day of Decision. Your participation keeps the hope alive!

Discussion on the Canadians Against Prop 8 Facebook group.

Out-of-towners:
Due to requests from the Yukon to Nova Scotia, we thought that if groups in small towns sent us a large "white knot ribbon" with their city in large letters and signatures/messages, we would display it at the rally. The white knot ribbon could be out of cloth or poster paper. See "www.whiteknot.org" for the shape of the ribbon (as seen at the Oscars). E-mail Roger for the mailing address.

In June, we were ecstatic when our film was accepted by the Vancouver Queer Film Festival, the city's 2nd largest film festival.

Our 11-minute documentary is one of eleven shorts in a programme called "From Coast to Coast is Queer". It will be shown at Empire Granville 7 Cinemas at 6:30pm, August 21st. You can buy tickets at:
